Informal does not have to mean improvised: finger food sofisticado is about small, carefully made bites served at a relaxed gathering in Cascais. We cook plates that look considered and eat easily in one hand, so nobody needs a knife, a fork or a seat. MamaVera prepares everything in our kitchen and delivers, sets up or serves depending on what your evening needs.
The distinction is in the making, not the ceremony: fresh local fish rather than tinned, pastry rolled in our kitchen, sauces built from scratch. Each piece is designed for one clean bite, so guests keep talking instead of negotiating with a plate. Presentation is neat and restrained — good ingredients on good platters, not decoration for its own sake.
Marinated salmon with dill cream on rye, chicken liver pâté with pickled fruit, tartlets with roasted pepper and goat's cheese, beetroot and walnut bites, and warm savoury pastries brought out mid-evening. Mediterranean base, Slavic accents, all from our own recipes. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free pieces are part of the same selection rather than an afterthought.
Terraces above the bay, small apartments in the old centre, garden evenings on the Estoril side — the format suits any space where guests stand and move around. We can deliver everything ready to serve, or bring a member of the team to refresh platters and clear as the evening goes on. Rental glassware and platters are available if you would rather not use your own.
With twelve to fifteen pieces per guest, finger food comfortably replaces dinner. For a shorter drinks gathering, eight to ten is plenty.
