MamaVera caters brunch for social gatherings across Lisbon — birthdays, baby showers, housewarmings, christenings and Sunday get-togethers with friends. We bring a late-morning spread that people can graze on for two or three hours without anyone having to sit down at a fixed hour. Everything is cooked to our own recipes, Mediterranean at heart with a Slavic accent, and set up at your home, terrace or hired space.
The base is a mix of warm and cold: baked egg dishes and mini quiches, cured meats and cheeses, marinated vegetables, and a few of our own salads that hold well over a long morning. Alongside them go fresh breads, seasonal fruit, homemade pastries and a small sweet corner. We add cold-pressed juices and a coffee or tea station if you would rather not manage drinks yourself. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions of most dishes are made in the same kitchen, not bought in.
We agree the menu and headcount a few days ahead, then arrive early enough to have the table finished before your first guests knock. Delivery-only works well for a relaxed flat gathering; for anything above roughly twenty people we recommend one or two of our staff to keep platters replenished and clear as they go. At the end we pack everything down and leave the kitchen as we found it.
Lisbon already lives at brunch pace, and a mid-morning start means people arrive before the heat and the traffic. It also fits the city's homes: a long grazing table works far better on a Príncipe Real terrace or an Alfama roof than a seated three-course lunch. Guests with children can come and go, and the whole thing ends in daylight.
Two weeks is comfortable for most brunches; for weekends in May, June and September it is worth asking earlier, as those dates fill first.
Yes — we work in private homes, rented apartments and event studios. We only need to know whether there is a fridge, running water and a lift, so we plan the setup around it.
Tell us the date, the number of guests and the style — we'll send a tailored proposal.
